I have tried to get off the "beaten path" so to speak and after several miles thru the deep woods with the discriminator off, I found the usual pull tabs, shotgun hulls and aluminum foil... BUT,
I did find a square nail and a flat button.. Will hit it again tomorrow and hopefully find something great?

Flat button and square nail.....my kinda place! Anything visible on the back side of the button? How long is the nail? Wondering if you have a horse shoe nail or a "building" nail...

Pretty sure building nail, little over 2 1/2 in long.. The button has some faint writing and some sort of pattern but to lite for my old eyes to make out even with a magnifier?

If the pattern goes all the way around the button...well.....I think you get my drift. At 2.5 inches, not a horse shoe nail.....nice work. You're on to something.
