yesterday's buckle

Found this buckle in a wooded area where a rock foundation is along with some flowers. Square nails indicated a very old location. The buckle is the size of a silver dollar and made of copper or brass and silver. The crossbar on the back still pivots on a pin hinge and the forked tonque swivels left and right on a pin hinge. No idea what it went on.
