I found gold .....where it has never been documented. But I'm not saying where....snicker...snicker...
I got into the prospecting thing when I hurt my back and did massive amounts of research and reading on geology, metals and prospecting. I made an educated (sort of) guess at where I thought it would be in my area
and I found some color in the first pan. Luck...or research.....the old timers used to say "gold is where you find it"
I can say..."they were right"!

OK - Remember, I'm new. However, I was very very lucky and found a dime in my backyard! Do you want to see a picture of it? ;D

Well, I've only been back for about 4 years now and havn't had a lot of time to hunt but when I was a kid visiting with my grandparents, they took me to Calvert Cliffs and I spent a couple of hours getting sunburned and looking like a cooked lobster to find a very nice fossilized shark tooth of a Great White.

Since I live in AA county, I've been a little creeped out about MDing around here which makes it difficult to go out conveniently.

I've recently picked up a Bounty Hunter to replace the POS Famous Trails that I used to use and am hoping I will have greater success now.

This was found accidentally while looking for coins. Imagine my surprise. I also found a (dateless) 1794 large cent that day.

I started about a month ago and the best thing I have found MDing was a 1932 penny. Though it did get me to look through all of the loose change I have collected over the years and came across 2 Buffalo nickels and a 1908 liberty nickel.

I have several best finds, I will get pictures this winter and post them. Some of my favorites are a 1909 half, a 1943 half, a 1876 CC quarter, a 1774 dime sized Reale, I have a belt plate similar to the one pictured above, but mine is thinner, it was found bottle digging. I have tons of old bottles also. I am just too darn busy to get pictures, lol.

Ok its knee deep in snow here, so I took some pictures. These items were mostly metal detected, a few came from bottle digging.
