I haven't been out hardly at all and it's killing me. The beach is calling me after all these storms though. Thinkin' I might have to bundle up, swallow some extra Tylenol (to keep the old bones from squawkin'!) and get out there...

Hi Annie,


I just got back from Wingaersheek beach in Gloucester. It was my first hunt ever. Pretty cold, the tide was very very high, only a few feet wide to hunt and water was still coming in. I only got a few pull tabs and a hair clip (which was burried 10 inches deep). I'm not disappointed or discouraged, it was fun to go for the first time and to get used to my detector!

Way to go! And you're right not to be discouraged! You'll learn your machine the more you use it and it will "tell" you what's down there (mostly). Be sure to do your research. Here's a couple of cool map sites to get you started.

Annie, I am around all these Metal Detectors at my shop and cant use one , I just keep hoping for more snow to melt.
I go detecting every weekend, this winter has aged me lol
