Found my oldest coin thus far, an 1883 H Canadian Quarter, I believe it is made of.925 silver, and of course that's queen victoria, but I don't know what theH stands for, Halifax? Also snagged me a 1953 rosie, in my second hole dug, always nice to start a hunt w/ some silver right off the bat. Was an overcastday, wee bit of drizzle, but a nice day for it.
Re: 1883 H Canadian Quarter/ 1953 Rosie/ 51' wheat
I agree planetmars. I'd rather have a USA of this date, but a canadian with .925 silver is rather cool too. The H as I have recently learned is for Heaton, English mint.

Any coin that breaks that 1800's barrier are great and then to be silver is even better! I'll bet there are many T-netters that have never even seen a silver coin that old and one from Canada Taboot! Way to go Band!

LOL,
Looks like I get my wish! Seems Jenny may be the new Secretary of Energy. I know having her on the Economic Transition Team made me feel hopeful. If she can do for the entire country what she has done for Michigan.............
