    Mystery relic from the woods

    Hey Michiganders:
I did a really short woods hunt this week and found a few lumbering relics: part of a crosscut saw, an axe head, and a mystery relic. It is roughly 1/8" -1/4" thick and composed of circular shapes joined together. The circles are roughly pop can size and concave on one side and convex on the other. I'm not sure I pieced the broken parts back exactly the way they were orignally.

Is this part of an engine/farm implement, some lumbering relic, or part of a heavy duty muffin tin? Any ideas?

    Thanks for looking and HH.

p.s. Good luck all you deer hunters and be safe out there.

Yupers, old biscuit pan. I have seen whole ones posted some time back. That should indeed be a good spot. Go back grid it off and do it again. You might be pleasantly surprised. Monty

Thanks Great Lakes (and welcome to TNet!) for the positive I.D. I haven't found the remains of the cook yet.

Thanks all for the replies. I wondered if it was kitchen-related but it seemed pretty heavy. Those camp cooks must have had some gnarly biceps.

Thats half the fun of this great hobby is finding those "whats its" and "Thingamabobs", I have'nt had the luck to stumble onto one of those old logging sites but I hope someday that will change! Great finds Anne! I kinda am a litttle suspect of that bisquit pan? Looks a little too heavy duty for that, but hey back in those days they built stuff to last! Thats why we can still dig up those neat old things!
