Lets ring in the New Year....

..with some crotal bells. I did have one larger one, well half a larger one. It was broken. That thing was huge. I think I threw it out.
They all ring but one. Happy New Year!!!

Interesting bells Jim, I see those in posts from time to time. What/where were they used? Duane

Re: Lets ring in the New Year....

Nice collection of crotals Jim, I got my first one about two weeks ago and posted it in the Michigan forum. To those who don't know what a crotal bell is.......Its a bell that was attached to the hoses harness, generally in the winter time. Also commonly known as a sleigh bell, they came in different sizes and produced different tones. The bad part about finding crotals is that most of them used an iron clapper inside and that parts rust away hope ya don't mind me puttin in my 2 cents Jimbo!

Nice bells Jim I found 2 of the biggest ones I've ever found on Jan 7th the last hunt this year. They were both in surprisingly good shape (plated) and the clappers are in good shape.
