It's hot! Can't wait for Fall

I don't get out much....not when it's muggy like this. I did manage to swing for awhile yesterday at a 170 yo home; dug memorial zincolns at 6".
Got one decent silver hit, also I had only a half-hour to swing. These are some finds from the last couple hunts, I know of a soccer field, "field of wheats", where you could dig em all day! They are 6-7' deep, and I dig them all hoping for a silver, 5 or 6 silver hits already from this newer soccer field. The little brass? eagle item is a squished ring from 7", found along main street. ffd

Nice finds! Gotta like spots w/ lots of wheats, makes it kinda exciting, like gettinga nibble when fishing.

Yeah, Im not really one for the heat, so go detecting early in the morning or latein the evening. Hunt in the shade of the big trees, maybe that silver youfind was dropped by someone getting out of the sun way back when.

    Good luck,
    HH.

Nice stuff! Just remember, Winter is not far off when fall is here. And in Michigan winters turn off metal detecting or so I've heard. Monty

Maybe for some, Monty! Going over my notes, I hunted a dozen times between Dec and Mar of '09. 1 hunt in Dec, 4 in Feb, the rest thru Mar, (is March winter?).
Give me February hunting over Jun-Sep any time!
I scored Walkers, Barbers, indians, and others cause the turf's flat and ground is moist, in a mid-winter thaw, we get 'em nearly every year. Love it! ffd

made me look too, I had my first hunt of 09 on Feb 11th. couple more in feb and a lot in march, as soon as I can get my shovel to break through the ground I'm out there. actually the winter barely gives us enough time to do research

I agree! And no poison ivy or mosquitoes.

    Nice finds, FFD.
