December 17th woods hunt.
This morning I found a spot on Maps Live in birds eye view in town and had to go try it so I gave my brother a call and met him there. I managed to get a barber quarter, some strange looking lead thing, a Nu Way Police suspender buckle a zincoln and memorial. The barber was about 6 inches in the dirt after the leaves and snow. My brother got a merc and a couple memorials. I'll probably head back there for a while tomorrow with my D2 coil cause there's a lot of mertle growing everywhere and the 6x10 coil that I was using today don't get the depth the 10" Round coil does.

Love that Barber, Sweet. Nice finds, Congrats!
We've been in the low 20's for a few days, but friday 'spose to have a high of37', so I figure I'll hit the woods and hope I can dig some.
Good luck,
HH.

The ground is very diggable in the woods right now, it's solid as a rock in parks etc., I usually dig all winter in the woods, last year the only months I didn't go were probably late November and all of February when the snow was just way too deep.

Someone on the whites forum said they thought the lead thingy was a toy sad iron and I think they're right after bending the handle up, I don't think it's pure lead either cause it seems harder like it's got tin in it or something.

Nice digs! Are the woods froze yet?

The woods that I've been hunting aren't frozen at all but right next to a tree the ground will be hard, heck I've made some great finds in the winter and it's a lot warmer than ice fishing.

Sweet Barber Giant. I like the suspender buckle, thanks for including the ad. I hope to try the woods after Christmas. Are roots a big problem?
HH
The bicycle is a curious vehicle. Its passenger is its engine.

The roots usually aren't too bad but near them maple trees can be a pain in the butt.
