Silver finds of '09

Hello SE Michigan here.

Well it's been too cold to get out of late( I prefer it to be at least 32 degrees w/ little wind.)So I spent the day putting my '08 finds in the cardboard sleeves and folders I gotfor christmass. After this posting I plan to do the same w/ my '09 finds.

2009 finds
1- spanish 2 reale 1790
2- Walkers 34' and 36'
1- dateless SLQ
18- Silver Washington Quarters
1- very smooth Seated Dime
31- Winged Capped Liberty Dimes
69- Silver Roosevelt Dimes
6- Canadian Dimes
Also scored 747 Wheats

Quite a haul there, B! Really impressive ring totals too. I managed one this year.
Looks like your totals of roosies exceeded the mercs. My tally was just the opposite, more mercs than roosies. I wonder why that is, could be mercs were deeper, and were missed over the years? Anyhow, good luck on your finds for 2010. ffd

Thats a nice haul of silver for one year. Congrats to ya. I think the reason most find mercs more than rosies is because when folks found out that coins were not going to be made of silver anymore people started to hoard them out of circulation. There were more rosies at that time to hoard. Leaving more time for the mercs to be lost in the ground than rosies.

wow!!, man that is a bunch of silver, congrats on a great season!! I agree with FFD about the merc to rosie ration, mine was the opposite too, at least 3 mercs to every rosie. hope there is some left for 2010

You had one awesome year indeed big congrats on a mess of fantastic finds, I've always wanted to find a reale but haven't found one yet but maybe this year, heck maybe I'll even find my first gold coin, ya just never know!
