My two cents worth!
My friend Jake wanted to hit some farm fields today. The first one was a bust, but the 2nd one that he had been to several times and it was very productive for him netted me an 1866 two cent piece! Later Jake got an 1862 IH, then we left to check another site but no one was home so we ended up back at the same spot where we both got a wheatie to finish the day. So we got 5 cents between the two of us! Thanks for a fun time Jake! We also dug a lot of junk.

Man that would be awesome to dig a 2 cent piece. That's the 2nd one that I've seen on here dug in Michigan this year! Hopefully I'll have my turn some time.
Awesome

Nice finds Mike. I have found 7 two cent pieces in my small town and only a couple are as nice as that one. It seems strange that they lost so many considering the size of them.

sweet....awesome score on the 2 cent coin Mike! congrats on a nice keeper. was the farm area field you guys were hunting always farm land or were their old homesites there at one time? I'm just wondering if it is worthwhile to hunt a old farm field that has only ever been farm land. I've never done the field hunting and not sure of people only do it if there was an old home there. anyway, again, very nice find!

It had a farm in the 1800's. We only hunt fields that had a structure at one time. That is how the finds got there. No need in hunting a field that has always been a field, unless something happened there, Like a circus, etc...

WTG Mike. Nice 2 center. I love finding those. Makes you wonder how they didn't notice loosing such a big coin. 2 cents was a lot back then. HH dan

Re: My two cents worth!
When I opened this thread I was expecting a 2 center but what I saw was worth a nickle. Then I read your post.
Nice find. That one is on my wish list.
