Is that "ringing" in my ears?

My dad and I ran out this evening to that "hunted out" park I mentioned in the previous thread. At least it was a little warmer today. I criss-crossed the area where I found the IH, and then started a new grid about 20 feet away. Within 5 minutes, I hit a very solid, mellow tone. Depth reading was 4 inches, which has meant at least 8 inches so far at this park

My dad dug a plug and I rechecked the hole. Signal was still there. He went to work even deeper while I wandered off a little ways to wrestle with a penny. After a few minutes, he excitedly called me over and revealed this:

Turned out to be a beautiful silver ring with a ruby. My first thought was a class ring, but there are no school or year markings. Sorry for the picture, but all I had was my camera phone.

The targets are very deep in this area. We think it is a combination of heavy traffic and layers of fill being brought in over the years. We also found some Wheat pennies, several clad coins, a very old copper button, and a small pile of spent .30 carbine cases.

Lots of good stuff still here!

Verified with a local jeweler that the stone is a ruby!
