 Mike from MI
A teaching day.........
I was asked several months ago by Michiganne to talk to a 4-H group about treasure hunting. Yesterday we traveled about 46 miles to a her home where I gave the talk. We had about a dozen kids, and 4 adults. This is one of the smallest groups I have talked with but was equally as fun. After sharing about treasure hunting, showing finds, and answering questions, we took the kids out for a treasure hunt. The area was seeded with quarters, half dollars, and tokens. There were also three keys one of which opened a treasure chest full of goodies! Everyone had fun finding and keeping the treasure. The first key found opened the chest that had cookies inside for everyone. We had to wear our coats as it was cool and very windy but everyone had a blast. Looking forward to the next one at the end of the month with a much bigger crowd!

Re: A teaching day.........
Thanks again, Mike! You gave a great talk and really presented MDers in a postive light. Thanks for taking the time to share your love of the hobby. Maybe those kids will look at their history lessons in a new way. Everyone had a load of fun.

p.s. We only had one problem with the hunt.....we had to keep taking Mike's detector away (see last pic) and telling him, "No, it's for the kids, Mike."

WTG teaching those kids to detect! Spooky's going to hate the fact that my kids have a $19 dollar detector and are tearing up my yard! ffd
