Jackson relic hunting
not that I was trying to avoid old coins, but they seemed to be hiding pretty good today. (except for a couple of the ugliest wheats in existence) Did dig some nice doo-dads though. HH all, Griff

thanks....if you're referring to the octagon thing in the second pic, I believe its an old make-up tin. I have probably a dozen or so of them things. Actually I think the square thing in the fourth picture might be one too. HH out there.

thanks D, the sparton tag says "Sparks Withington Company Jackson, Michigan USA" at the top. At the bottom it says "model J number 5 20 911 volts 6 patented Dec 24 1912, Dec 3 1913" Anyway to figure out what it came off of?

Awesome assortment of finds there Griff. Sometimes it is more fun to pull interesting older relics than coins. Congrats on a great hunt man!!

Hey Griff,
Those old coins are there somewhere! Nice relics.

Great bunch of relics Postal I think Mike is right, there's gotta be some old coins there somewhere, I'd be hitting that spot again.

About 1912 Sparton obtained a contract with Hudson and Packard, to manufacture the industry's first electric motor horn. (At that time, the factory was located on North St, across from the old prison, and the city just tore down the old factory, as you know.) -D

Re: Jackson relic hunting
Excellent smorgasborg of relics, Josh! That Iowa seal is cool, any idea of the age?
Keep digging!
