July 10th back to the same spot as yesterday

I managed to get me an 1874 Fishscale, old scout pin and a 1 pint token. I still haven't found a half dime yet and when I spotted the fishscale shining at the bottom of the plug that's what I was thinking. I really like finding the fishscales to though.

Very cool Canadian coin. I found that same BSA pin this spring. Is that little bottle thing glass?

Yes it's glass Anne, I figure that it came up out of an ash pit.

Hey them are great digs! Congrats on the old Vicky coin. I got an 1888 Vicky a couple years ago.

Actually they (U.S. half dimes & Canadian 5 cents) were nicknamed that back in the 1800's but the fishscale nickname for the U.S. coins dwindled as the Canadian 5 cent piece held the nickname I think because they were minted up into the early 1900's. They are so small and thin that they look like a fish scale.
