Since its the dead of winter..I am gonna post from my detecting journal my best.
...year detecting, 2003. I will blot out some property owners name when needed just so folks won't go knocking at their place and bug em. I thought it would be kinda neat to read for some folks. I found over 100 Indian head pennies that year. I believe I counted the ones I gave up to Troy. Let me explain that deal. Whenever Troy got us into a place to detect I agreed to give him every other target because he was new to detecting and he felt it wasn't fair. Because I would be scooping up all the good stuff. So I agreed. That was stupid of me but it was true. He wouldn't find much on his own but whenever I scored a good target it made me puke.
I will post a couple posts a day under this same post if anyone cares to follow along and read. Figure it would give some something to read as the forum has slowed down quite a bit. Here is the first hunt for 2003 and believe it or not it was in January. Also the next hunt which eneded up being in March.

Thanks Mr. D. I thought I would put up a couple days worth every day til done. I had around 60 hunts that year I believe. So should be about a months worth of reading. Something to do I guess. Jan. is a long cold month so why not do a little boring reading of the Jimmy chronicles.

About that Baker College site, always thought it looked old because of the huge oaks out front, if you mean the south side; northwest side also stood an old home, no longer there. Kid that lived there came to school once with several old coins that they found in the wall when doing some renovation.....I wan't to say they were large cents but not sure.
Blair park, I think I know where that spot is, I won't go there alone. I now work in that town and it's seriously ghetto in some places, but I'd love to hunt that place!

I have been to Blair park a few times alone BUT I went real early when most the bad guys are snoozing. Got some Indians and silver outta there. Still plenty there though.

Thanks for posting, Jim. It was fun to read someone else's MDing log. I didn't start keeping one until I started finding the better stuff. Now I enjoy going back and reading some of the better entries, especially this time of the year. :P

Thanks Anne, It also helps you to go back over some spots you may have forgotten about and re-hit them. I've kept one since 2001.

Deceitful Jimmy
...the deal with the first entry is when I knocked on the door and asked permission. The old guy said,"oh you have detected up at so and sos house up the road right. I didn't know what he was talking about so I just went with it. Bad Jimmy.
The next entry where Troy got impatient was a huge yard and we were not there very long before he wanted to go. He was driving so I had to. I just knew there was more there. Come to find out Patrick received permission to detect there not long after us and found two seated dimes outta that yard. Ahhhh. Thats what I get for being deceitful. What goes around comes around.
