How do I make images smaller?

I'm trying to make the images smaller. Does anyone know how to do this? Two of the pics from my last post came out right. The other two are gigantic!!! Anyone got any advice for me?

    Thanks,

    Chuck

I think most people use a program that you can crop or just downsize the pics, mine is an easy one that came with my printer and gives you the option to make them web appropriate. Generally in the range of 150 to 200 KB seems to be good for the forum. You can probably download a program if your computer doesn't have one and I know some people use the paint program although I don't care for it. Anyway hope this helps.

There are many ways of re-sizing, but this is how to do it with the Paint program, which requires no downloads as it is supplied with most PCs. Do a few and it goes really quick.

    -Open the program "Paint".

-Then click "File" and then "Open". This will bring up the folders/files on your computer.

-Select the file you wish to work with.

-With the file/image open, click on "Image". This will open a drop down menu.

-From the drop down menu, click "Stretch/Skew". This will open another box.

-In this box you will see "Stretch" with options for "Horizontal" and "Vertical". The %'s for these will be at 100.

-Change the value from 100 to your new percentage (either shrinking or enlarging, though enlarging will cause some loss of quality) and click OK.

-Your picture will be re-sized. Save the newly sized photo as a new file so as to retain your original.

One easy way is to email it to yourself and when asked to make it smaller choose yes!

Re: How do I make images smaller?

    Thanks again guys.

I tried Diggin's suggestions first because when I open the pictures to edit them it automatically takes me to paint anyway.

Diggin, that was super easy. Thanks a lot. I must've spent an hour the other day trying to figure it out. I must've hit every button except stretch/skew. I remember thinking...I don't wanna stretch it. I was able to make both images smaller so that they are viewable on the page now.

    Thanks again,
