Awesome 2 center D!! Man, the soil has been kind to that one. WTG Found my first one last year but it was in rough shape having been under a sidewalk all those years. Congrats buddy!

Awesome find. Just curious...how did you clean that coin? What process did you use?
By the naked eye it appear it just had some dirt on it, but I've found Indians like that and I wash them water and they end up looking like crap.

After looking at the condition of that beauty, I would have to say that was dropped shortly after being minted. The We, in In Good We Trust is the first thing to go on those coins. It's large and prevalent. Congrats on a great great find.

to find a rare 2 cent civil war era coin in that great of a shape -- well your blessed -- it looks like it was lost shortly after being minted -- since its got basically no wear upon it , and the soil there must be very nearacid free -- no pitting or issues -- great coin / great find --btw thats still on my yet to find list .
