Dropped the youngest off at school and since it was "nice" and I had my md in the truck, I thought, why not. Cruised over to a friends empty lot that had two shed moved off it this past summer. Turned out pretty decent as you can see. This is my first '64 JFK. When I pulled it out I thought, oh ya, what are the odds...apparently good. However the very first signal came right in front of where the larger shed would have been and plucked out a Michigan map FOB that has STERLING on back. Toward the end of the hunt it started to rain pretty good so I was content searching under a large old maple and was able to nab a decent looking '43 steely. Remarkable really, even dug up an old fishin' pole handle and I am not sure about the red tag...from an old telephone pole maybe.
I was worried about it being too solid of ground also, but this area is very sandy and monday was like 48 degrees. i don't think we'll have those kinds of temps for awhile but was glad to scratch my itch.
