It must of been fun just to get out. Jeff bones that have been in the water for a long period of time look like that. Once it dries out it will turn to a brown color. This is a jaw bone that I found last year and it looked just like that one until it dried out.

It creeped me out when i grabbed it out of my scoop! I thought that it was a necklace pendant setting my detector off!

Ha I did that as a teen, back in the mid 70's I painted a bleached raccoon skull multicolor - fastened it to a chain and wore it around my neck on a school trip up north to camp Innisfree.

I remember some of the kids said they "really dig it!" :laughing7:

LOL When I was in college my girlfriend and I found a dead owl while hiking in the woods. I still have the cleaned up skull and she took some of the tiny vertebrae and made a set of earrings out of them. They were pretty cool too. :icon_thumleft:
