Civil war mini cannon ball ?? Any thoughts

Found this today aboue 11 inches down. I believe its made from lead. Looks to me like an old civil war mini cannon ball. Its larger than a quarter Id say closer to 50 cent piece in diameter.

Whats your guys thoughts on what it could be.

I have dug many CW relics in states like VA, SC, and others where there are relics galore. Never seen one like that. Round with big hole.

Im not so sure either. To me it looks like an old mini ball from that era but I wanted some more input. Its got me stumped.
