Found this last saturday:
It's a 193x Sterling class ring. Unfortunately, the name at the top of the ring is mostly missing, says "School" at the bottom. I think the break is why it sounded terrible, this lake is heavily hunted, usually when I go there I turn my disc nearly off and look for stud earrings. This is the last hunt I will make with my Fisher 1280x for a while, it has to go in for repair. Glad it was a good hunt. I wish I had taken a picture before I cleaned it up, It was a black lump, looked like crusted iron or something. I thought it was an old junk ring from a cracker jack box or something until I seen it was stamped on the back when I got home. took three baking soda/aluminum foil baths to get enough crust off to read any of it. I polished the high spots just a bit with a cleaning cloth. I think it might have been in the lake since the 30s, it was over a foot deep into the rocky lake bed.

All new walls, all new downstairs floor, new windows, and new kitchen cabinets. I think I got to go detecting twice last year. So this year I bought a new detector and got back to it
