Minelab Explorer (is there another brand)
I hit the old 1840s home site and had some good success.
TWO Barber Quarters in one hunt. Funny it took me about 5 years of detecting before I found my first Barber Quarter. I have found about 5 over the 10 years I have been detecting. Now I find two at one spot. Too fun. 1894 S and a real nice shape 1908 O .
Also got the 1900 Barber dime and a pretty nice 1890 Indian head penny pictured last all cleaned up after a peroxide bath. Was a fun time. Look at the neat ornate thingy in the first photo. Wonder what it went to. This is a good start to the year of detecting. Hope it stays this good. Jim

Great silvers Jim !!!!!!!!! I read your profile and the question its there another brand I say yes and its Whites. My brother and I usually run neck and neck hunting he has a Minelab SE which makes for some tough competition. The day before yesterday he waxed me in a 10 foot area though he found a Canadian Silver dollar,Canadian silver half, Canadian silver dime, barber quarter and a walker but the walker wasn't in the same 10 foot area, I did manage to muster up a barber dime and silver ring that day. What's weird are all the Canadians were the same year and in uncirculated condition, he said I'll bet some kids day gave them a mint set and they lost it in the woods, if thats the case then wheres the quarter at?
