Did some Harvesting of Wallhangers wheat field

I met Mark "Wallhanger" last weekend at a local park and we discussed my Minelab Explorer SE and the fact that he was considering getting one as he felt he was missing coins with his DFX. Well it wasn't long and he contacted me and told me he had purchased a new Explorer Pro SE and thoughtmaybe we could go hit a site together and see if I could give him a few tips. I was more than happy to give him tips, but I am pretty new with this machine too and hoped I could at least get him going in the right direction. We met at a local parking lot and he took me to a old farm site where they were soon to tear down all the buildings to make way for some new stores. Mark and another friend had hit this spot hard before with their DFX's but wanted to see if the Minelabs could find anything more. After arriving I gave Mark a crash course and got him rolling, he told me to go over the front yard while he hit a side yard area. I did,nt go ten feet before I got my first hit and pulled a nice 1920 wheatie. I continued to pull wheaties all over the yard and Mark was doing some coin diggin himself but I'll let him tell you about that. I ended the afternoon with 8 nice wheaties dates are as follows 1910,1913D,1918,1919,1920,1946D,1956D,1957D. I also dug a real cool old straight razor that I thought was neat as heck, "Anyone need a shave?" lol

Thanks Mark for a fun afternoon and a great hunting partner, you have the passion for this hobby as bad as I do!

Good job on those pennies Jack, looks like you really "had your wheaties".

Re: Did some Harvesting of Wallhangers wheat field

That was a great way to get started on the SE Jack. Thanks for helping me out. Let me remind everyone that I had went over that front yard 3 times personally and my buddy Brian hit it once as well. Both of us had used our DFX's and pulled out probably a dozen wheats, 1 silver rosie and lots of relics. In fact, the last time I hit it, I dug every iffy that was bouncing around the right numbers. Got a lot of nice square nails out of the deal. Anyway, I sent Jack in that front yard and the SE passed the test. Now I find myself going back over some of the other spots and hitting a few coins here and there. In fact last night I hit a repeat spot and got my favorite token so far which I posted on today's finds. I didn't find too much that day with Jack, but I did manage to get a nice Buffalo nickel and some relics. I had just asked Jack what to look for if a nickel signal came through and he pointed to a spot on the screen. Within a few minutes, there it was! Anyway, I am learning this machine and the sounds more every day. I believe some good finds are in the future. Thanks again Jack and we need to do this again!

    Nice wheaties, Slipperyjack47.

Friday I dug 131 coins, found 3 wheaties. Today I found only one coin. A 1945 wheatie.

Nice Wheaties. Sounds like this spot is a bit hot with them. I'm looking for my first of the year but then again I only started back at it last night after being away several years. Good luck guys!
