I found this bathouse tag from a lake in South Jersey. The lake had a park active from 1890 to about 1920, with rowing, fishing and swimming. The ruins of a bathhouse still remain, but most of the shoreline is lined by private homes, People used to take a train from the city for day trips etc. The lake was drained a few years ago for a new dam to be built and whatever was on the bottom of the lake end up on the banks below. The spot has been hit hard, but every once in a while when I only have a short amount to hunt I still find silver. Some recent finds from the park that I already posted in the "Today's Finds" forum are 1902 Barber Dime, bent 1902 Barber Half (look at my avatar), 1912 Barber quarter, 1933 Merc, antique copper jewelry, Silver Washington quarters and rosies, and plenty of corroded Wheaties.

I think the "M" Stood for Men's Bathouse.

Sometimes just finding a piece of local history is as exciting as finding a valuable coin!
