    Late July Flint Tools

    Below I have found a few of my recent finds. Some are interesting, some not so much. I would invite comment on the diamond-shape tool. I've seen larger pieces of similar shape that were hafted. This is rather small, and I have no idea as to its purpose.

    Nice docmann. Aren't at least two of those alibates chert? I found i lone flake of that material, it's beautiful stuff.

    NG, Thanks for the nice words. Yes, most of the material out in this neck of the woods is Alibates flint. Interestingly, we do see some Kay County Chert, Obsidian, and lately am finding a great deal more dark red (very deep red) flint that I have yet to identify. Hope to have more postings up this weekend.
