remember pre nazi germany --the swastika was a thousands of year old good luck symbol in many cultures ---clearly this boy scout "good luck" token comes from the time before hitler twisted the meaning of it --
Before Hitler ruined the meaning of a swastika into something terrible, it was considered a good luck symbol. If you look and compare German swastikas with yours, they usually go the other direction. Many tokens and lucky coins used the symbol before 1940. I have even saw them on a Buster Brown shoe token.
It was five inches down and it is the size of a 50 cent coin and gave a dime signal (easy find), I kept it in my pocket for a day to see what luck it would bring and yesterday after receiving change at the HEB store I got a 1940 quarter (what luck). I then stopped at the truck stop got a lotto scratch off (Dallas Cowboy kind) and 5 Texas lotto for Wednesday and they gave me one a free Mega Million (what luck), I didn't get nothing on the scratch off or the Texas lotto so waiting on the Mega on Friday. Also when I got home my Dish TV box stop working so I opened it up and I was shocked to see all that had accumulated inside it, blew it out with the air compressor and now it OK (what luck). I guess I will keep the token in my pocket until I go to the casino next week. Happy Trails 2 U...
Dont let Art fool you folks, every time i venture out with him not only does he show me his luck but his skill with that E-trac!
He has a knack for finding the good stuff regardless if we are hunting a fresh area or a worn out spot, he always finds that little gem.......a couple coins too! he has taught me alot alot about patience, persistence and like he always reminds me, to slow down.
Him finding this very cool token is just another example of his "luck".Great job Art.....
You're right, go slow and be patient, of course, Art is an old man...ha ha Did I mention I'm stepping on 62, about 3-4 years older than Art, man I feel old.....You guys did good. John
