I search google earth before I go out and hunt because in Pasadena tx it will let you go back to 1944. So I found a location off beltway 8 that had some kind of farmhouse in 1944 and now is a empty lot. So I went metal detecting and found about 90+ bullets of all kinds even the round balls.

You folks in Conroe are pretty clever. In San Antonio, we just dig, generally don't find much, but we get lots of exercise. Nice finds, very nice...

I overlap old photos with google earth. There is software that will do this and then you can fade one pic out a little. I spend hours and hours doing this.. you think I'd have more stuff to show lol.. well I do!

Up at the top on the tools bar of earth there is a 'clock' looking little icon. Just click on it and it will then give you a slider bar that has vertical marks on it. They represent aerial photos at different dates and years. Click on one and it will take you to an aerial photo.

Go to google earth and at the top of the screen you will see a round clock or watch looking symbol click on that and up pops a timeline and you just move the arrow back and forth it shows how far you can go back depending on location . Very cool

Google only goes back to 1994 over SW Florida so I use the online photos the museums provide.
