Nokta FoRs Gold, a Gold Cube, 2 Keene Sluices and Lord only knows how many pans....not to mention a load of other gear my wife still doesn't know about!

Sounds like a good way to go about it Nubby, as each machine I've ever used
had it's own way of saying that there was a target below, and what it was
primarily composed of. Over time you'll get to know your machine, and as you
progress you'll find more and more simply due to experience.

Nails are easier to make out.
And I myself, always dig the pull tab signals, I have a test garden and Both my titan and Ace can't tell the difference from the pull tab or the gold ring. I have found a few gold rings now "digging pulltabs"
