That's an awesome group of finds! That button looks to be in really good shape, as are the coins. Congratulations on a very productive day!!

thanks, i was just told that the button was in service from 1854-1875. it is dented and the shank is bent over but i'm happy to have found it and i like the suspender clip as well

i know what you mean. i have dug them in other places, in dark rich soil and the buffs come out a reddish color and indians that are just a chunk of green. but these come out of a sandy old church yard. i have dug 3 buffs and they are a blackish color and the indians just have a nice patina and i have one that is just unbelievable. i could post the whole group if you would like to see them

here are the 2 groups of coins the group on the bottom were all dug from the area of light sandy soil. the group on the top were from every where else, mostly darker soils. IMG_20180422_053749.jpg IMG_20180422_054006.jpg IMG_20180422_053911.jpg IMG_20180422_053840.jpg IMG_20180422_054057.jpg

Hi rac7658, none of the last grouping of attachments came thru on my end. Would love to see them, but the attachments aren't working for some reason.

Nice group of coins! The 1891 IHP with the spotted patina is beautiful! I would love to know what causes that. The LC looks to have been minted, and then buried. Gotta assume you found it in sandy soil? That's what I love about a small river town, it's all sandy soil! Nice work adding to an already impressive group of coins!

That's a really nice group of coins. You're on to something and nailing it. 🙌 Keep them coming. 😁
