    A CZ-5 question.

Hello Fisher experts. I have read about The 1021 CZ-5 Los Banos machines being the sought after ones. I looked at one today with a SN of 11578, and it had Los Banos on the sticker. $150.00 Can one of you guys tell me how to id a 1021 machine? I've searched till my eyes are crossing and I can't seem to find the answer.

    Thanks, Mike.

    Re: A CZ-5 question.

    Mike,

The 1021 serial number series you are referring to, are for the newer model CZ3D. I believe all CZ5's were Los Banos models, since they were made prior to the First Texas take over. So I don't think you will see a 1021 CZ5.

If you can get a working CZ5 for $150....GET IT !!!!!!!!!!! As long as it can hit a clad dime, with sensitivity in the 5-6 range with the stock 8 inch coil, at 9-10 inches, you are getting a bargain.
Gotta get out to get the goods

Ah, that explains it! Thank you. I went and took a better look at it and it is the older model with the white lower shaft and black/ white coil. I'm still gonna go back and air test it, per your suggestions. If it's hot I'm gonna grab it.

    Thanks again for the response.
