Reading between the lines tells me they want to clean out inventory because something new is coming.

    Re: F75 price drop

times are tough--- folks are focusing on "gotta haves' instead of "wanna haves" --detectors are "wanna haves" -- while food , rent and lights & heat / cooling and car payments & gas are "gotta haves"

according to the numbers -- home ownership levels are at a all time low since the "great depression" and once one actually counts the real "unemployment rate' -- its about 12 1/2 per cent roughly 1 in 8 "out of work" long term -- interest rates for saved money is low , interest rates for borrowed money is high * home foreclosures rates are slowing a bit (mostly because lots and lots of folks have already lost their homes --but the foreclosure rates are still high * --the glut of foreclosed homes on the market has the housing market on the skids --depressing the overall value of all homes (foreclosed or not) and those that lost homes credit ratings are so wrecked they can not get back into debt by buying a differant home. (stuck in the "renter only economic class")

folks no one is saying it but we are under going a "modern depression"

Ivan: "folks no one is saying it but we are under going a "modern depression" .....Ivan, I have it from a good source that this is a RECOVERY we are in. At least that's what I was told. Had the
Feds done nothing, the economy would have righted itself by now and this would all be over....You're right, expect to see prices on discretionary spending go down as seller's compete for buyers. Ought to see some real deals on the used market too, as everyone will be selling the "extras" while they still can sell it. Sure would like a F75 LTD, but I already spent my discretionary income for the year (on a detector).

Those must be some other coils offered for the F series that I did not know about. Those don't look so bad I guess. My bad.

Fisher and teknetics dropped them for the Christmas rush. It was a Christmas special that so far they are keeping. I wouldn't expect it to stay long at that price.

That is often the case when something like this takes place. I have an F75 standard that I love, but, I would be very happy to look at a "new and improved" version.....with real improvements, not just bells and whistles. I want one that says "Don't dig, this is aluminum!"
