It was spitting rain early this morning, but I decided to give it a go anyway. I strapped on my LC9 Pro, grabbed my detector and headed to a bad part of town. The rain picked up so I rode around looking for a good new spot to detect.

I found a vacant home that was built in the early fifties with a real estate sign in the front yard. I called the agent and asked permission to detect the yard. He said he didn't own the property and couldn't give me permission.

I asked who owns the property and he said 'Fannie Mae'. I said no problem, I know Fannie and it will be OK. In his confusion, he said go ahead. LOL

Anyway, the rain stopped and I managed to find 2 silver coins at this site. I was using the DE mode, 90 on the sensitivity, 0 discrimination, 4H tones and using the NEL Sharpshooter coil.

The silver quarter was shallow and I was surprised it turned out to be a silver coin. On the other hand, the deeper silver dime didn't fool me at all. It gave a soft slow 'rolling' ID and tone that always means silver to my ears. The numbers weren't bouncy at all. They just rolled slowly between 70 and 81.

I've only had time to get in 4 short hunts this year, but I still managed to find 11 silver coins. I have pictures of all the digs, but messed around didn't post them. I'm getting lazy. Anyway, here are some pictures of today's finds at this site.

Very nice!

I haven't had much chance to use my NEL Sharpshooter on my upgraded F-75 and you give me encouragement for the spring.

I’ve used about all modern ones but right now: CTX 3030, White’s MXT Pro, XP Deus, Vaquero, White’s TRX

That would have been a record location for me. The most silver coins I have found in one site was 8. I wonder if he was basically giving you a "yes" by saying Fannie Mae?

Before becoming a builder and land developer, I was a real estate agent, so I pretty much know how they think. I personally wouldn't give anyone permission to detect a piece of property that I didn't own because of the liability. If I had talked to the agent face to face instead of over the phone, I probably would have seen a 'wink' from him.
