I started the day off with my newly acquired Omega 8500. I didn't detect long with it, but I did want to get some swing time in so I can start learning how to properly use it. Right off the bat I got a good audio tone and VDI number and popped a 1964 Rosie dime. Other than a few wheat pennies I didn't find anymore old coins at that site, so I left.
At the second site I pulled out my F75 with the NEL Sharpshooter search coil attached. The guy who gave me permission to detect the yard had done some detecting in the past and owns a Whites IDX Pro. He was beside himself as he watched me pop 4 silver coins (1948,1962,1946,1951) from the front yard. He probably would have died it had popped a big ole gold ring.
Also I found 11 wheat pennies today. I'm up to 45 silver coins and 3 gold rings so far for the year in just 13 short hunts.
