I made it to 50 silver coins in 16 hunts without getting skunked in a single hunt, so anything else beyond 50 is gravy.

My goal for total silver coins for the year is set low at 100. I should be able to make that easily with no pressure at all. Now I can relax and coast for awhile.

With the smaller search coil and deep grass I elected to hunt slowly in the boost mode. I set the sensitivity at 80 and used the 4H tones. Finding 16 wheat pennies kept me spurred on to keep looking for the silver. The weather was great today!

Why is the streak over? You haven't been skunked yet?!

That has to be some kind of record - I know of absolutely ZERO other people who have accomplished what you have in just January!!!

I read the subject and came in to console you're deprived hunt. I am very happy for you and your silver totals for the year. You've a dug a year's worth in barely a month, (16 hunts). Awesome :occasion14:

Thanks. The silver coin streak continues, I got one yesterday on hunt 17. I thought the streak was over but I managed to corner one after a lot of swinging.

Hell, I'd be happy with that much clad on one hunt. Silver sure looks purdy coming out of the ground. Tabman, really like your minimalist diggy-mthingy. Is that homemade or can you pick that up somewhere?

My digger is a Wilcox 2 x 18 inch hand trowel that I modified with some pvc pipe that's held in place with some epoxy glue. It's the very best digger that I've every used. I use a file to keep it sharp, so it will cut easily through grass. I can't imagine detecting without it.

Thanks. It all about detecting in good locations. Knowing how to find those good places is where experience pays off.

I've seen you detect and I know that it was hard for me to keep up with you. If you had as much time as have to detect, you would have as many silver coins or more than me. Gold rings is another story. LOL

Thanks. I've reach 50 coins without getting skunked and I have not been skunked so far this year. I'm up to 51 silver coins now. Maybe tomorrow will be the day that I get skunked if I decide to go detecting.

Good job with the silver streak. I got a good start to 100 silvers this year with 22. Hope it counts that 20 were in the same hole! [emoji2]
