So a little info here. Went on a short relic hunt. I mean very short. 15 minutes into detecting and the F75 starting going all erratic. Here is what I've tried so far:
Tried to ground balance again, switched coils, turned sensitivity way down, even tried the frequency change, turned discrimination way down, and went as far as factory reset the machine and still very very erratic. I'll swing the coil and every swing produces a churp and a beep. Nothing there but will constantly beep. I've exhausted all my efforts and drI've 65 miles just to have detector fudge up on me. What gives? Any help would be great.

Ok I'll ask the obvious . All connections tight ? Batteries fresh? If so you will likely need to send it back to Fisher .They are good and will fix it like new . I've had mine for several years and use and at times (unintentionally ) abuse it . I wouldn't hesitate to buy another . And what happened to you is why I always take my ATP along as a backup ...you just never know.

Try the factory reset again and then remove the battery's while the unit is still on , then put the battery's back in and wait about 10/15 minutes before turning it back on and factory reset again ... Woodstock

Tried the coil cover out in the field. Took it off and cleaned it and the coil was well. Also thought of the cell phone causing interference and shut it off with no change. This is very confusing because I've tried everything and I can't see why all of a sudden it would start doing it. I will say that since I've owned it on any piece of ground I've detected it won't get about 65 on quick grab. Today was as low as 56. Would the coil cause these issues

Connections are all tight, the only think I've not done is replaced batteries. It shows its on the second level of the three level meter

With my unit, I try to put my phone as far away as possible from the machine. This thing picks it up easily! So check phone, coil plug, give it a restart, check batteries and make sure there all the same, and what I mean is that never use your detector mixed good and bad batteries. Always discard dead batteries and put in a new set. Like our good friend Sandman said, if you have a coil cover make sure to have it cleaned. Where you detecting near power lines, electric fence, homes, wifi, antenas, the ground where you are hunting is it clean or littered with junk, iron, pull tabs ect? Make sure you ground balance correctly, that where u are traying balance there arent any targets. One time I was trying to GB and I actually had to walk away 10-12 yards just to GB my F75 since the ground was littered with bits of iron, nails ect. Yes, could be a faulty detector but just go through all these things first. Always go through the basic stuff first! If nothing works then give Fisher a call. They have good service!

I had phone off after it began and even after I reset it. I've never had an issue before with it messing with the machine. Another thing us I cannot get thus thing to balance above 65 and that's in an absolutely clean yard and even my brothers AT Pro balanced somewhere in the 80's and I could only get maybe 62-63. I took the coil cover off when all thus started and cleaned it off and cleaned the coil as well. The batteries were all the same and it's on the second mark on meter. One thing I did notice where my coil wire is the little velcro strap at bottom underneath it the witem clear coat looks cracked but doesn't look like it made it into the wire itself but again I'm not sure so it could have made it in the wire and I wouldn't be able to tell

I just read somewhere else that others were having issues with the coil in heavy dew and areas that were somewhat damp. I began to notice all these problems when running my coil over the damp grass out in the field and this makes sense seeing how every other time I've detected its been the middle of the day. Also it's very sensitive to touching the coil and goes off even on a tough blade of grass. So I may be sending the coil back in to them to see if they can test it. The smaller coil seemed to not have any issues and I figure that if it was the machine it would have done it on both.

The F75 is sensitive and they do false frequently as I said several times send the whole machine back . Don't mess around you' ll be happy you sent it back . If its under warranty and many times even if it isn't you' ll only pay for postage to send it .

I'll do that. I would rather send the whole thing in and have them do a thorough look through then to send just the coil back and wonder if it was something else later on.

Dew on the grass shouldn't be a problem. It's a submersable coil.

There is no "goal" to get the ground balance number up. It calibrated itself to what the conditions require and the reading is the base soil mineralization. It's a relative number and different makes of detectors use different scales' I'm usually between 50 and 70 hereabouts (clay and glacial silt with some iron). Be sure to find a clear spot (no targets) to FASTGrab. And repeat occasionally throughout the hunt.

Could be a short in the coil if it "beeps" at the end of every swing. If you're indicating in the middle (and not striking the coil on the ground) it could be something else. Steel toed shoes? Loose wire on the shaft? Overhead powerlines? Did you get similar results in all-metal mode?

When in doubt - send it back.

It was totally uncontrollable while swinging. I tried every imaginable thing I could and nothing changed it except when I took it away from the ground. I realize the coil is submersible as most of them are now but I've read previous posts where a coil may have a bad o-ring at connection, or bad seals around coil. The spot at the back where the little hump is at that looks glued looks suspect. I'm serious nothing changed as I tried multiple times to get it to calm down and it would be going bazurk.

Send the whole package back, they will re-calibrate it to your coil/s. Mabye the coil is cracked and some water got in. I have never had a problem with mine, they have great customer service and quick turn-around times. Just call them to get the ball rolling. I had to send mine in due to a bonehead mistake on my part.

Another obvious, your sure you weren't in an area where there could be cables in the ground?

I was in the backwoods away from a town for about 10 miles. Shoot I didn't have even a ounce of cell reception that's how far I was out.
