It was raining here this morning. Once it let off I went to my Aunt's property and was swinging the F75. I dug some large iron pieces a hunk of a plow I think and some large bolts. 3rd target was enough for me to dig it and put it there ground comes a 1916 Buffalo nickel. The last target was loud and clear, like a quarter. It was a great seal button, but larger than the other 2 that I've found. The first 2 were found about 1000 feet apart and this one was found closer to the house and about 100 feet from the 2nd.

Congrats on the nice finds! After 40 years of detecting, I've never found any buttons!

Congrats on those finds. Man you might want to open up a used MD store and sell off part of your arsenal to fund future upgrades. Are you using the probe that came with your F75?

Thanks! I don't think I'm gonna be upgrading for awhile. Lol. I gave my LRP to my son and I'm just gonna hang on to the Platinum and the extra coils for a backup or loaner. I've been using the probe and I it's awesome!!!

Nice finds. What numbers came up for that buff? I've dug a couple v nickels that gave me a low 70's signal. Didn't find any iron around it either for an up average effect. Weird.

It was a lower jumpy vdi. 30-35 one way, 30-43 another way. The button was 77-78.

That's interesting. I almost never dig a nickel when I get a high 20's, low to mid 30's reading. My nickels usually seem to be jumpy like that too.

And the newer non removable pop tabs sound and look just like a nickel!

I checked my log(s) and my F75 puts Jefferson and Indian Head nickels in the 28 to 30 range.

An 1874 nickel came in at 26 (down in the foil range)

The REAL old girls - early 1870's 3¢ nickels - came in at 21 and 23.

You have to dig a LOT of gum wrappers and junk to get the faint 'ol nickels.
