    Visiting/working in Tampa

    Hi all,

I will be visiting/working in Tampa in the upcoming weeks and I thought I'd bring my detector along.

I was wondering if you could give me a quick run-through of any laws as well as maybe a local spot or two to hit.

    Any input would be appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Kevo

If you happen hit up any of the beaches over around St Pete... just stay between the tide line & the dune and you'll be good!

you might try Picnic Island on the tampa side of the bay, near Gandy. Or you could detect along the Hillsborough River. I'd be careful there though due to the neighborhoods, possibly closer to University of Tampa would be better. I've been across the bridge a million times but except for one trip with Gil from Sebring, I haven't hunted there. There's also a park at the east end of Gandy Blvd along with a fishing pier. I wouldn't dig there but use a screwdriver to pop your finds from the dirt and grass, a lot less mess.
what the heck am I doing here
