If there is treasure here, I haven't found it yet, not many places to look that aren't posted ,or in a hunt club, or both. Taylor county has lots of history, from 10,000 years ago till now, lots of indian artifacts, the main town(Perry) is 150 years old, there were Spanish missions nearby, Confederate saltworks were on the coast , and still I have only found 1 silver Rosie dime....I just dont get it....Lol!

I ran into a fella today(whilst taking vacation and researching ). He's the fella you here about finding the silver back in the 70's and 80's . He showed me a couple of his White's detector's. One must have weighed 5 lbs

His folks own a samll store. He me showed around and we talked about silver hunting. Well.. he talked about finding silver.

He saved me some time researching. He knows the places and told me to give him a call when I wanted to go huntin' . When it cools down.

Know any good dirt road trash piles in the mean time?

i was in Tally. hope to head there again real soon. Its tough being away from home. I found a couple of late 1800's early 1900's town or communities i want to look for. and a few forts.

there are a few abandoned settlements out on the west end of the county... but they have for the most part regressed to wilderness, so i recommend a sharp shovel

they are less than an hours drive from Tally.

I'm just North of you in Thomasville. It's only a 30 minute drive that I'd be willing to take anytime. I have a few spots here too.
