Venice beach for sure, peace river. I think if you look hard you can find them in lots more places. I go to anna maria island and find one or two each time I go to the beach but I have to search hard for them.

cntrydncr1 is right, Venice is a great public place to go search for sharks teeth.
I used to be able to walk away with several ziplock bags full of teeth after a day of searching... but these days, or at least the last few times I've been down there, I've been lucky to find more than ten teeth. I'm not particularly sure what it is or what's happen over the years. A local man told me that I might make my way further south down Venice to find more teeth. I haven't gotten around to trying, but maybe the currents have just shifted them down a little further.

If you do go searching for them, I always look for heavy concentrations of small smooth pebbles a little bigger than BB's and more of a flat oval shape. The teeth always seemed to be heavier in those areas....

Cool, well I hope you find lots of teeth! And if you want someone to go sift with you, I'd be happy to meet up with you down there.
I've still got my sifters and mesh bags around here somewhere. Just send me a message whenever you do finally get down...

    Peace River....

i am in Peace River every couple of weeks...water is knee deep and clear....
all kinds of teeth (small to really large) bones, and other what-not come out of there....
really a nice quiet place and there are local clubs that hunt the river as well for teeth...

there is a Thousand Trails campground on the rivers edge...you could park in there for the day and have use of facilities...this is on HW 17 in Wachula...

Central Florida to east or west coast...I just enjoy going out to hunt...email and see if we will make a day of it...I can drive or gas anytime...

I'm sure Venice is a nice place to find sharks teeth in general. But if you want to find MEGLADON teeth the size of dinner plates, Fernandina is the place to go.....a certain place ....back in July, I found 4 very large teeth (2-4 inches tall), 2 sabertooth tiger teeth, and 1 other tooth (or claw) that I haven't been able to identify. Great place to go for fossils.....

    Peace River...

i was at the Thousand Trails campground in Wachula on hw 17 yesterday...

3 teen girls and grandparents were knee deep and getting after the teeth...they were using 2 dollar sand sifters bought from walmart in the toy section...

i sat for an hour and they likely had 100 teeth between them...grandma had 4 different piles going...gramps was in on this as well...they were having a good time...

there was about 6 other people who looked like they knew what they were doing...chairs, buckets, floating sifters, all the gear needed...pro's...

water was knee deep...mostly small teeth....i did see one or two the size of your thumb tip...but no biggies while i was there...

Venice used to good for finding small and large shark's teeth, until about 1990 when they renourished the beaches, and covered up the beaches and nearshore reefs with sand from way offshore. Now you have to go down to the pier South of Venice. Sharky's restarant is at the base of the pier. From there South is good. Plus there are many people looking for teeth. Good luck. I grew up there and dove and walked the beaches, and it was always easy to find teeth, now it is rare to find even one in Venice, unless you go down South.

Try Don Pedro / Palm Island. Just about every time I go, I end up with 50 or more small shark's teeth, generally ranging in size from 3/8" to 3/4". I just walk along the beach and look for dark triangle shaped spots.

Go to a butcher shop and buy a quart of cow's blood, go to any beach in Florida, wade in till your waist deep and pour the blood in the water.......Wait about 10 minutes and they will bring the teeth right up to you.....

The reason Venice Beach is the spot is because the "ancient" layer that the teeth are in comes up on a slant just off shore. The teeth can also be found in NC, SC, etc. You can also scope out construction sites. The fill that is brought in by trucks may have teeth in it. Look for the "gray" dirt with shell in it. I have found Thousands of small teeth at Venice. Go south past Sharky's till you see the golf course. Park anywhere along there (or the county park) and head for the beach. At the beach, look for the gray-colored sand. The teeth are in there. Get your nose right down there to look at those black specks in the sand... many will be very tiny teeth!.Good luck! TTC

If you are a diver and have a boat or kayak then go off shore from Venice Beach about a mile. Anchor your boat and dive down about 15 feet. There are pot holes out there and sharks teeth the size of your hand can be found in those pot holes or lying flat on the hard pan with a layer of silt covering them. I know a guy who has hundreds of huge shark teeth.
