Do you know the name of the settlement?

San Antonio.... It was established by the Catholics in 1881 on the banks of Fovita lake.

Got it…….I was not sure if you were talking about San Antonio or another settlement near San Antonio. Based on some of the information I found on line there may have been a few other named communities in the area that are no longer around. I have driven through the area several times but never had a chance to explore it.

We have a lot of ghost towns in our state. Some of them are in state wild life management areas or in the national forests. Some were absorbed by urban sprawl and some are on private property. It is not legal to hunt in the state or national forests but a lot of them could be hunted with permission.

Penney Farms…..Never heard of the place before. Founded by J.C. Penney. I clicked on the James Cash Penney Wikipedia link. It said in 1940 during a visit to one of his stores he trained a young Sam Walton on how to wrap packages.
