Hi there we go up to Hugenot all the time searching and all we seem to find is green pennies. Can someone who goes there and has found anything of value clue us in to where we need to be focusing? would it be the ocean surf, near the dunes (not in them) or where people have parked?
we also search the canal side and that is just pulling up fishing lures and green pennies.

Thanks for all your advice

HD,

Go at dead low tide, get about knee deep or less in the water. on beach side.
you should find something, the area is loaded. The sand is in right now. but if there's any cut's
anywhere, search very slow. Once the sand starts going out you will start finding nicer targets:

Good hunting Sapper

I too hunt there -- look were the people are at *--- go to the water at bottom low tide (get there 1 hour before so you can get as far as possible out there at max low tide) knee deep will be where folks would be swimming at (chest deep)during high tide also hit along the towel line areas , where folks lie out sun bathing . it a very popular area

What are the laws regarding detecting at Hugenot? Is it as restricted as at Little Talbot?

nope exept for around the slaveship area inthe lagoon area --its fairly wide open --the park manager (at least to the best of my knowledge is very freindly to mding in general) at the cost is much less than little talbot (much cheaper)--at least it used to be --they were talking about a rate hike but don't know if they put it thru --even if the prices are close -- the parks much more MDer freindly -- the olny spots that little talbot allowed mding held very little of interest (southerm end ) --all the goodies are at the off limits northern end of the island --(nassau sound area) :o Ivan
