    Indiana Fossils

I spent about a half an hour in a dry creek bed and found all of these little things. I'm not really sure what they other than plants. It was the first time just going out just to look for fossils. Is there any good rocks to crack open near creeks for fossils?

    Re: Indiana Fossils

Indiana is a great place to collect invertebrate fossils! You've picked up mostly stem sections ("columnals") of crinoids; but, I think I see a couple of rugose solitary corals in the top row.

Do some research. Get some inexpensive publications from the Indiana geological survey. You'll be adding more interesting things to your collection quickly.
