Maybe a Squid

I don't know anything about fossils but they are interesting. My daughter's boyfriend is a fossil hunter/collector. He said this was a squid (I don't know, but I thought it was different) I found this almost two years ago. Can anyone tell me anything about this? It is approx. two inches long.

Well it is a squid, sort of, it is a type of cephalopod..............extinct kin to a squid. Obviously its soft parts, for the most part, are not preserved which leaves only the chambered shell behind.
