    tooth or not?

I found this on a Florida beach and when I picked it up just figured it was a regular piece of a fossilized bone, but after looking at it more and noticing the odd shape, I thought it might be some sort of tooth even if it is hollow. It is about 2.75 inches long, and about .25 inches across at it widest. The one side (left, facing you in the photo) is more flat, actually a little concave, and the opposite site is more pointed of convex. Below are the photos.

    Thanks for any help.

This does not appear to be a tooth.

    Re: tooth or not?

Looks rib-like to me. Photo of first photo seems to show depression for muscle attachment/cartiledge. If piece was already broken when found, could have been a cracked bone to extract the marrow. End pieces clean and uniform, so not likely natural. Maybe an old artifact from a BBQ-rib feast?
