found this a few yrs back close to a dino dig. don't think it's dino, but looks like possibly vertabrate. though it might just be concretion. pix aren't that good, but I have tried several times to get a good shot, not quite there. any thoughts would be appreciated.

There is not enough info here to work with, 'mamabear'. Please provide more good close-ups (like your first image) from different angles. Is there any structure in the mouth of that truncated cone? Provide us a close-up of any texture or internal structure you detect.
My first impression is that this is a marine fossil cast, but it could be something else entirely.

Looks like a fossilized Gastropoda.
