Nice selection. I enjoy your posts and the variety of your different finds. I always enjoyed hunting in Fla. Mostly fossils & Indian artifacts. For some odd reason- very little metal detecting. Haven't been there for a while but I need to go back.

Like that piece of antler. Have a similar piece, but is mineralized white instead of black

Gatorboy I see in your pics a lot of stuff we find that I just throw back. It's black and grainy but lighter then stone. Am I tossing back something bud I shouldn't be.

I couldn't say from just that description.
If you are in an area where you find fossils you'll notice that they take on different color depending on the sediment they spent most of their time in.
Just being grainy and dark wouldn't necessarily make something identifiable as a fossil.
You should see evidence of some latticework of bone.. It will also help to check a geological map of the area you hunt to see what type of fossils are there.. Also look for examples of fossils found in your area and compare

It's mixed in with the dredging here in brunswick ga where we find our teeth.

Ahh.. I think I know the stuff you're talking about.
It's probably a mixture of solidified sediment and some of it is probably unidentifiable bone fragments with a lot of wear
