My hunting area

This is a pic of my fossil hunting area in W.
AR, This is the last pit left before it is all reclaimed.
At one time, there was over a mile of pits, full of
beautiful blue water, we swam & played for years in
this area, we even had a rope swing on a large tree.
I hunted fossils here for many years, took many friends
here to swim & hunt, (including the Dallas-Ft. Worth club)
It is sad to see it go, but I had many, many, wonderful
days here, & met lots of nice folks & collected many
great fossils. (To everything there is a season).

Truly sad to see it get all reclaimed. I've been to this place many times with Fossis, and I hope to go back for one more full day before everything gets covered up for good. Fossis knows this place like the back of his hand, and has been an encyclopedia of information of stories and knowledge about this place and what can be found here.

How far is this place from Dallas Ft.worth? I would love to hunt with ya'll. Also have some pieces I would like you to look at fossis that a camera just doesnt do justice for.

Hey Abbey, Actually the Mining companies are required
by law to reclaim the land after mining,
The old companies, (years ago), just mined & left everything
for about 60 years, thus we had a good time for a while.
So it's off to find "some new diggin's", .
