Looks like a tooth but I have no idea what from.

How big is it Remember if your asking questions like this, we need reference points to help us narrow down our search. Looks like a piece of petrified wood to me, but I can't tell from the pic. If its small, putting a dime or a quarter in the the pic will really help us a lot. Is it a 10" piece of rock or is it only an inch across?
