I found several of these rocks on a gravel bar in south east Kansas, they look like they are a fossil of some kind, like a petrified wood but not. the surface rocks around here are Pennsylvanian age I'm wondering if it is some kind of giant moss or something. or maybe its just coal... look familiar to anyone?
